1 [00:00:11] <genr8_> i run all my drives 24/7 spun up. all the spindowns and head parking load unload cycles put more wear on it than just 24/7 idling

8 [00:02:02] <genr8_> you have to either select "Graphical Installer" when you boot, or use the Live image which is different
9 [00:02:04] <Mat63> I want to see how it works before installing it on the magnetic disk
10 [00:02:35] <Mat63> Now I tell you a moment please
11 [00:03:00] <Mat63> debian-live-10.6.0-amd64-standard.iso

38 [00:09:15] <Mat63> What would be the iso with a lighter desktop environment?
39 [00:09:32] <sney> for "lighter" you'd want xfce, lxqt, or lxde.

1364 [22:06:40] <jmcnaught> Azrael_-: you cannot upgrade directly from squeeze to buster, you need to do it one at a time. Follow the upgrade instructions in the release notes for each release for best results.
1365 [22:06:42] <alex11> you may as well just back up your data and install fresh
