71 [00:47:25] <alencc1986> Hello, guys. How are you? I'm facing a problem with 'buster-backports' and 'LibreOffice'. When I try to update my system with 'sudo apt -t buster-backports dist-upgrade', LibreOffice latest version is installed (or, at least, APT try to update it), but it brokes my LibreOffice installation in a way that I can't have LibreOffice installed in my system. Does anyone is facing the same problem? Do you

79 [00:51:33] <annadane> dist-upgrade will actively remove packages
80 [00:51:36] <sponix> because backports isn't a different full Debian branch upgrade, it is just pulling select packages from backports

85 [00:53:11] <sponix> alencc1986: pretty sure, that looks at every package you already have installed, and if it exist in backports updates to the backports version of it
86 [00:53:55] <alencc1986> Up to last week, 'backports' was working perfectly fine. So, in this weekend, it broken my LibreOffice installation.

88 [00:55:09] <sponix> alencc1986: well, the person that tossed that command in here, said it was just good to list all available backports for what you currently have installed. And that they didn't recommend actually upgrading all of them. So doing so is of course at your own risk

182 [02:07:22] <usney> I got it from thinkpenguin
183 [02:07:36] <sney> sometimes laptops have hardware wifi toggles that you need to explicitly set in bios so the wifi interface will be enabled in the installer
184 [02:07:44] <usney> it is certificated free hardware by fsf it should work

188 [02:08:45] <usney> it is certificated by GNU and FSF to work out of the box with free software only.
189 [02:09:07] <sney> then it is probably just getting disabled by bios. or it's defective
190 [02:09:11] <joepublic> then if functional, will 'just work'
