23 [00:19:47] <phogg> Is there an existing tool to tell me the set of packages which are installed on my system and for which the next release of Debian provides no version? I'm looking to get a kind of approximate "What might I need to get another way?" list before doing an upgrade.

29 [00:23:49] <phogg> jmcnaught: I'm not so concerned with packages that will be installed after the upgrade; I'm worried more for the ones that might have been removed due to a dep on a package that was updated.

110 [01:22:09] <jmcnaught> annadane: it could be worth making sure that support for your card hasn't moved from nvidia-driver to nvidia-legacy-xxxx packages, which threw a real wrench in someone's jessie→stretch upgrade

1612 [17:51:47] <jasonwc> For some reason, scrolling and dragging windows is never really smooth on my main desktop in Gnome. I'm using a GTX 1080 Ti with the Nvidia 418.74 drivers packaged with Buster. I force Full Composition Pipeline in the Nvidia driver which is supposed to prevent tearing. The same system on Windows is very smooth on my 144Hz monitor.
