[00:02:29] <SerajewelKS> yeah. the worry is that it could break when swapping back in something critical and take down the system in the middle of writing to the disk. though any disk could fail at any time, so...

[00:10:03] <n4dir> back then if the installation worked or not was sometimes due to the hardware used.

[23:49:24] <rant> so that when you unmount /mnt and enter the device in crypttab and fstab and tell it to open that container, and mount its containing fs onto /home the data will be as it was
[23:49:35] <rant> but now on an encrypted volume inside a luks container
[23:49:46] <peaceguy> the result will be
[23:49:59] <peaceguy> the existing /home used as home dir for the user?
[23:50:15] <rant> yes the userland will not know the difference
[23:50:16] <TTT> hi, I'm running firefox on Sid, v62.0.3. I have uBlock origin & privacy badger addons, nothing else. It used to run fine, until maybe ~1 month/several weeks ago. Now I do anything, I get spinning disk, or very unresponsive UI. Maybe firefox itself got upgraded, maybe something else, I'm not sure
[23:50:25] <peaceguy> ok thank you
[23:50:26] <rant> fwiw and not to confuse you, but you don't actually need a partition or physical disk for a container.. a file can be a luks container
[23:50:35] <peaceguy> it's late i need to sleep, i will back to this tomorrow
[23:50:37] <peaceguy> return*
