[23:48:08] <rant> hmm.. lemme check this system.. I just installed on it recently and have Xp on the other partition

[23:52:12] <rant> I have 3 menu entries on here.. the linux, advanced options for linux, and windows.. maybe grub failed to detect it.. I'd do as you said and perhaps just try running update-grub and see what output you get from that
[23:52:24] <xbadc0de> maybe I need to configure grub manually to boot into the other hard drive
[23:52:39] <xbadc0de> nada
[23:52:43] <rant> its supposed to auto-detect.. manually updating it should tell you something
[23:52:58] <xbadc0de> doesn't detect windows
[23:53:02] <rant> xbadc0de: can you see the windows partitions from in linux?
[23:53:35] <rant> furthermore which drive did you install grub on if you have two seperate drives?
[23:53:38] <coruja> os-prober installed and os-prober-script in /etc/grub.d/ executable?

[23:54:25] <xbadc0de> and the grub bootloader is in the linux hard drive
[23:54:49] <rant> I had no idea os-prober was a seperate package
[23:55:00] <rant> that's a good catch.. make sure os-prober is installed
[23:55:31] <xbadc0de> I am not sure if I need to have some bootcode for window specifically or not
[23:55:35] <rant> apt-get install os-prober
[23:55:37] <xbadc0de> but I'll install that
[23:56:00] <rant> if that wasn't installed then thats why grub failed to detect it.. just run update-grub again after installing it
[23:56:16] <xbadc0de> already have that
